Where were we?
The bust of Nefertiti, the Ishtar Gate, and more Assyrians than you could shake a spear at... Where exactly were we?
The famous bust of Nefertiti. Incredibly beautiful, especially her dodgy eye!
The Ishtar Gate from Babylon - the main reason Craig wanted to go on the trip! It was very impressive - especially as this was the smaller of the gates! For the first time in years, Craig manages to see his highlight without it being covered in scaffolding or on loan to another country!
Tiglath-Pileser II wouldn't be seen dead without his handbag on a Saturday night out...
Sharon breaks the old rule: never eat anything bigger than your own head
Ah, it was Berlin! And in case you're wondering, we're straight, it's the gate that's wonky (honest!)
Hours of fun at the Reichstag, although 3 Craigs in one picture is a bit scary...
Checkpoint Charlie - how was it so hard to get past a small wooden shed?? It wasn't quite as Sharon remembered it, but then she was only 5 when she went through it!
Guess which famous Berlin landmark this was next to? Checkpoint Charlie namesakes were everywhere. Our special prize for ingenuity goes to "Czechpoint", the Czech Republic's tourist information office!
The Berlin wall - or what's left of it. Most of it seems to be on keyrings, postcards, and anything else they think they can sell to a tourist. Before you ask, no we didn't.
Craig's favourite German invention - glasses so tall you don't have to bother picking them up!
