Craig and Sharon's Travels!

Back in the UK - which means back to work :o(

...but we can't really complain! We had a great time on holiday in Tanzania, and, in a surprise move, have actually got around to uploading some pictures within the same month we went! Wonders will never cease...

Anyway, we told you in the last post where we'd been and what we'd done, so I'll leave you to the pictures!

A young elephant that stumbled out of the forest in front of us in Lake Manyara National Park.

Sharon at Olduvai Gorge, where all the famous early human remains were found (note Craig has already forgotten what they were...).

A hyena on the prowl. The neighbouring Zebra were starting to look worried at this point.

A leopard up a tree. The unsociable thing refused to come down and pose for a decent photo.

Giraffe!

And another! These were some of Craig's favourites - along with the warthogs.

A Lion cub in the Serengeti. Doesn't he look cute!

A big grey mouse. OK, so it's an elephant really.

Sharon trying to be arty...

...And Craig looking gormless. No change there then!

Us in front of an elephant, just about the only piccy we got of both of us - everything else ran away - or we did...

A very hungry zebra.

A hippo - did it really manage to get sunburnt...

Roar!!!! Well, actually it was yawning, but that doesn't sound quite so dramatic.

On the prowl. We did see an attempted hunt of a poor warthog, but the warthog was too quick and got away - go Warty!

Our only sighting of a cheetah. And it failed to move at anything above a snail's pace.
Watch out for a Zanzibar picture extravanganza (well, us lounging by the pool) soon!

Tanzania and Zanzibar

Hi Everyone

We're typing this from a posh hotel on the coastline of beautiful Zanzibar. Hope you're all jealous!

We've just finished a week long safari on the mainland which was incredible. We started off at the Ngorongoro Crater where we were lucky enough to see a Black Rhino amongst other things. Then it was on to the Serengeti for lions (including cubs), giraffe, zebra, wilderbeast, cheetah and the elusive leopard. At Lake Manyara Sharon was pleased to see an African Fish Eagle at close quarters and we were almost trampled by a pair of elephants who came out of the forest right in front of us (OK, so we were in a jeep but that's not the point).

Now we're in Zanzibar, enjoying a few days rest before we fly home. Our hotel is lovely with palm trees and a beautiful white, sandy beach leading to the turquoise sea.

Sorry there aren't any pictures this time - we can't upload them here. No doubt we'll put some up when we get home, but on past performance it might not be until December!!
